Join the Division Street School Chess Club

Chess Club is open to all Division Street Student Grades K-5, and no prior knowledge of the game is necessary. 

No advance sign-up is required, and players are welcomed to visit anytime over the year as interest and scheduling permits.

Please remember to sign your child in! Signups are at the old blue door (left of the main entrance). Please wait at the door to sign them in.

What do we do at Chess Club?  

• Work with brand new players to get them to a basic level of knowledge to start playing the game, ASAP.

• Provide opportunities for kids to play matches with each other to test and develop their skills.  

• Review chess puzzles to work on tactics and strategy.

• Have fun playing chess! This is a game that can be played slowly over hours or with a timer creating a fast paced and high energy game that is sometimes better suited to the desires and interests of kids.
