Join the Division Street School Chess Club

Chess Club is a fun, casual way for students to start their morning with a great game of chess! Students are encouraged to grab a board, find a seat, and enjoy playing together—whether they are brand new to chess and learning the basics or already working to sharpen their skills and strategy. To help keep Chess Club safe and enjoyable for everyone, please remind students that the stage area will be off-limits and running around isn’t part of the game plan. Parents and caregivers are always welcome to stay, sit with their child, and see the club in action.

What Do We Do at Chess Club?

• Help new players learn the basics so they can begin playing with confidence

• Give students opportunities to play matches with one another and develop their skills

• Work through chess puzzles to practice tactics and strategy

• Most importantly—have fun playing chess!

Chess Club is open to all Division Street students in Grades K–5, and no prior chess experience is necessary.

Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29 at 8:20 AM.

No advance sign-up is required. Students are welcome to attend throughout the school year as their interest and schedules allow.
