Summer Learning Opportunities

Summer vacation will be here before you know it! It is important for students to relax and refresh, but it is also important for students to have opportunities to learn. That doesn't mean summer needs to be like school--learning takes many forms! Click here to find out about summer learning opportunities!

Arts in Ed - Insects with the Tang Museum

May 31st Tang - 2nd grade

The students will be working with artists from the Tang Museum to create a mini garden sculpture that mimics the habitat of tiny insects. They will do this after having the opportunity to inspect and analyze insect-related artwork by various artists.

Arts in Ed - African Drumming, May 31st -3rd grade

Rural Soul studio will bring in authentic African drums for the 3rd graders to play. They will learn about how the drums are constructed, the different styles of drumming, and the importance that drumming plays in Western African culture. Since drumming and dance go hand in hand, they will also be introduced to some elements of African dance.

Arts in Ed - A Soldier's Life, May 31st - 4th grade

Fort Ticonderoga will bring in their program, A Soldier’s Life. This up-close look at an individual in the Revolutionary War will start as a lesson in history but will also include mathematics, geography, and problem solving skills to complement the 4th grade curriculum.

Ndakinna Benefit Concert with Dan Bern, June 2nd

On Saturday 6/2 from 6:00-8:00pm join us for a family friendly evening of music, food and drink with musician Dan Bern during a benefit concert for Ndakinna Education Center. He has released some two dozen studio albums, EPs, and live recordings since his first CD on Sony/Work in 1997. Either fronting various bands or as a solo performer, he is convincing, funny and timely, with an unassuming tip of the hat to the spirits of the past greats, all while sounding fresh and original. Dans songs pack a punch, and are engaging and often cinematic.

The Ndakinna Education Center is located at 23 Middle Grove Rd, Greenfield Center.
